Renowned dancer Padma Shri Geeta Chandran, a celebrated artist of Indian classical dance Bharatanatyam gave a lecture cum dance demonstration at Pacific World School on Thursday, 24th October 2019 under the aegis of the Spic Macay – an eminent national level organization known for creating awareness about Indian classical forms in dance and music among the youth of India.
Ms. Chandran captivated the eager audience with her enthralling performances which were punctuated with her verbal explanations. An interactive session was also held during which the curious students asked questions to the dancer who most patiently answered the queries of the students with all the grace.
The message which Ms. Chandran conveyed throughout her performance and verbal explanations were that Bharatanatyam as an art form teaches you to be more diligent, enduring and disciplined qualities that are pivotal for students to imply in their life while growing.
All classical forms of art are an important source of not only life skills but also to enhance values of life, mind, soul and spirituality. It is the awareness of these values which the cultural organization of Spic Macay envisions and aims to spread through our heritage of classical music and dance amongst the youth of today.
